How to fix a tunneled candle

Step one

A tunneled candle occurs when your wax burns straight down the middle, leaving a ring of wax around the edge - resulting in a shorter burn life. The simple solution for this is aluminium foil!

Step two

Take a piece of folded aluminium foil and secure it to the edge of the lit candle. This keeps the heat within the candle and ensures the wax melts evenly inside.

Step three

Although sometimes it can't be helped, our top tip for avoiding tunneling, is to ensure you allow the candle to burn for at least 3-4 hours the first time you light it.
